Val David is situated 80 km (50 mi) north of Montreal in the province of Quebec. Found in the picturesque Laurentian Mountains, Val David is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Skiing and rock climbing are very popular activities in the area. Opened in 1951, Mont Alta is located in the snow belt of the Laurentians and offers fun skiing adventures for the whole family. Val David is also home to a thriving arts and culture scene. Many artists and crafts people open the doors of their studios, allowing visitors to view their latest creations. A popular art gallery to visit is the Centre d'Exposition – Maison du Village, which features a variety of exhibitions and workshops. A unique find in Val David is the Village du Père Noël.
